Liaoning is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization, with a long history and profound cultural heritage. The red mountain culture discovered in Chaoyang has a history of more than 6000 years. Liaoning gets its name from the meaning of “peaceful Liao river basin”. The province has 14 provincial cities, 100 counties and urban areas, the land area of 148,000 square kilometers. Liaoning province is located in the heart of northeast Asia, geographically adjacent to North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Mongolia, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Bohai economic circle, and connected to the vast hinterland of the northeast, Inner Mongolia. Liaoning is an important window for the construction of "the Belt and the Road" to open to the north, the only coastal province in northeast China and the main passage to the sea, an important land and sea gateway and frontier area connecting northeast Asia and Eurasian land bridge in China, and plays an important role in the Bohai sea.

Liaoning has a complete industrial category and a complete system. It has created more than 1,000 first place in the industrial history of People's Republic of China. Shenyang is always known as the "eastern Ruhr". The equipment manufacturing industry represented by CNC machine tools, industrial robots, power transmission and transformation equipment, metallurgical mines, petrochemical general equipment, general aviation, automobile and shipbuilding, and the raw material industry represented by petrochemicals and iron and steel occupy an important position in China. Among the top ten iron and steel joint enterprises in China, Liaoning has 2, and the comprehensive strength of iron and steel industry ranks the second in China.

It is the birthplace of Qing culture. Liaoning is rich in tourism resources.
